I am currently taking a sabbatical and not accepting new clients.
I offer virtual CAT sessions via Zoom, FaceTime or a platform of your choice. Please contact me to find out more.
I am a BACP Senior Accredited Psychotherapist and a CAT therapist and supervisor. I have over 20 years experience as a therapist and trainer.
I have recently completed a Professional Doctorate looking at the experience of subtle abuse of heterosexual women of high educational and socio-economic status by their male partners. The research explored the phenomenon of subtle abuse and how therapists can recognise clients who are being subtly abused even when the clients themselves do not realise. The research enabled me to develop a new CAT understanding of the process by which victims are changed by the experience of abuse.
Prior to the doctorate, I spent many years as a private therapist in Cambridge, in the NHS in primary care and ran the Counselling Service at 2 GP practices for a total of 14 years. I have also worked for the University of Cambridge Staff Counselling Service for over 9 years, latterly as Head of Service. I have run trainings both in the NHS and the University around such topics as stress, anxiety, resilience and managing people.
With a background in the NHS and the University I have seen a wide variety of people over the years. I have particular experience with those in demanding and responsible positions be they corporate, academic or administrative.
